1. Hefner interviews Garcia
2. Mountains of the Moon
3. St. Stephen (fades out)
4. Closing / Turn On Your Lovelight (segment)

Okay so that was a little open to interpretation, but i think most of you get the idea. It's January and the boys are at the beginning of an epic tour. Arguably one of their most epic tours. However on this day they take a little break to record Hugh Hefner's Playboy After Dark TV show. It would air later in the year (July I think). It starts off with a pretty funny interview with Jerry discussing hippydom and the drummers. I recall reading somewhere that the punchbowl was spiked that night. Overall it's a pretty funny scene with Jerry in the poncho, Hef in the tux and the kids dressed for a formal dance.

The source for the audio is a VHS so it is a bit rough, however with Mountains only played 13 times, its worth a listen. More TC in this one than i recall from 2-27 or 4-5. LIA wrote a nice essay on the song:

The St. Stephen is a bit raucous and unfortunately cuts away. Hef then signs off with Lovelight playing in the background. Its only 12 minutes of audio or about 10 of video and kind of fun. If nothing else, check out Phil's sideburns!

Hefner is a fascinating individual who had a vision, blazed his own trail, didn't rely on money from mom & dad and like MLK showed compassion for his fellow man.

Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel 2009.

My advice to the curmudgeons; watch the film, you just might learn something!

My advice to you would be to keep your advice to yourself, since you seem to feel the need to tell people you don't know how they should feel and think about things.Hugh Hefner is a sleazy publisher of a wrong minded magazine that perpetuates harmful and unhealthy ideals,he is not a rebel nor an activist, just another lowlife pushing product.

I would highly recommend reading Phil's account of this night in his book "Searching for the Sound" it makes the story even more hilarious!

Scroll to page 32 to see Rock now. Very light fluff thing from local rag for rich folks in Carmel/Pebble Beach, but an interesting couple of comments.

Rock says Bear spiked the coffee and girls started disrobing and one of the camera men was dosed and kept focusing on girls taking off their clothes much to the consternation of Hef.
